Poblador de Celendín queda parapléjico tras ser baleado durante protesta por Conga

La Mula, 27 de diciembre, 2011.- Elmer Campos quedó parapléjico tras recibir dos impactos de balas durante las manifestaciones contra el proyecto minero Conga en Cajamarca, según el informe médico al que accedió lamula.pe.
La mula.pe envió un equipo al cuarto de un hospital en Lima donde se encuentra internado Campos, y lo entrevistó para conocer su estado de salud.
Campos aseguró a lamula.pe que él participó en las protestas pacíficas a partir del 24 de noviembre, y agregó que el 29 de noviembre en la mañana más de dos mil efectivos de la Policía Nacional desalojaron a los manifestantes de las cercanías de la Laguna Azul.
Aproximadamente a las 9 de la mañana, recibió por la espalda dos impactos de bala: uno cerca al pulmón y otro que le destroza la médula dejándolo sin movilidad ni sensibilidad de la cintura para abajo.
A continuación, el reporte médico al que accedió la mula.pe:
Trauma toráxico abdominal por proyectil de arma de fuego, trauma vertebro medular por proyectil de arma de fuego, fractura D11 cuerpo y pedículo, hemotórax bilateral, post operado de esplenectomía y nefrectomía izquierda.
Este informe, junto con el video donde aparecen efectivos policiales disparando durante las protestas, contradicen las declaraciones del entonces Ministro del Interior Óscar Valdés quien negó el uso de balas de parte de los policías.
Al caer herido, Elmer Campos fue trasladado al Hospital José Soto Cadenillas de Chota, donde es operado y se le extrajo el bazo y un riñón.
Luego estuvo hospitalizado durante 9 días en el Hospital Las Mercedes de Chiclayo, donde por no haber neurocirujanos se lo trasladó a Lima para así evaluar los daños a la médula ósea.
Campos manifestó que él pretende entablar un juicio a la Policía por haberlo dejado discapacitado, pidiendo una indemnización y una pensión de por vida.
